From Kampala to Tembo Safari

There are two routes to Queen Elizabeth National park from Kampala 1) via Mbarara and Bushenyi (384 kms) and 2) via Fort Portal (407 kms)

Directions to Queen Elizabeth national park/ Tembo Safari Lodge

There are two routes to Queen Elizabeth National park from Kampala
1) via Mbarara and Bushenyi (384 kms) and
2) via Fort Portal (407 kms)

Tembo Safari lodge is located within Queen Elizabeth National park along the Kazinga Channel.

1. via Mbarara and Bushenyi (384 kms) – 6 hrs 27 minutes.

Board from Kampala using one of the multiple buses (advisable), taxis or private means. Drive South West through Masaka, Mbarara and Mitooma districts. Then slope into the valley of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Drive till you cross Kazinga channel into a town called Katunguru. Turn left on the first major road branching off and follow the sign post till you see Tembo Safari Lodge.

2. via Fort Portal (407 kms) – 6 hours 34 minutes

Board from Kampala as above and drive west through Mityana, Mubende, Fort Portal and Kaseese. The continue from Kasese through the national park till you reach Katunguru trading center (right before you cross Kazinga Channel and turn right). Follow the signposts till you reach Tembo Safari Lodge. The drive from the main road is about 500m.
